Late last year I suddenly developed sciatica and lost the feeling in part of my right leg. I was on steroids and muscle relaxers for the pain and facing possible back surgery. My doctor gave me a script for physical therapy. I had heard good things about Neil King and their Rochester Hills office was close to my doctor so I decided to go there. To begin, Mike gave me a thorough examination, testing reflexes, muscle tone, etc. Then he prescribed a set of stretching and strengthening exercises. Each session began with massage and traction, then a series of exercises. I worked with Mike, Carly, and Adam, who were all very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. They gave me a set of exercises to do at home which greatly helped to speed the results. I was impressed with their holistic approach and also the fact that even though sciatica is only on one side, they had me do the same exercises on both sides, to keep everything in balance. They were also very good about protecting against COVID - everyone wore masks and all the equipment was thoroughly scrubbed and sterilized. Over the course of treatment I was able to get off all medications and regained feeling in my leg. Two months after finishing treatment I am still pain free and it looks like I won't be needing the surgery.
Fast-forward to 2025. This time it was my shoulder, which had been injured several years ago and had started to deteriorate to the point my home exercises were no longer effective. I went back to Neal King Rochester Hills for help. Molly gave me a thorough examination and prescribed a set of exercises, which were added to over the course of the therapy. It turns out shoulders are very complex and there are several muscles involved which each require a different exercise. I worked with Molly, Claire, Jake, and Lorenzo; each had a slightly different background and were able to provide additional insights. Over a course of 2 1/2 months of progressively more difficult exercises I was able to strengthen each of the shoulder muscles to a point where I no longer have pain doing normal activities and am working back toward resuming my regular exercise routine, and it's not likely I will need any surgery.

Thanks to all the help and kind support of the staff I was able to finally get 10 hours of sleep without pain which is something i haven’t been able todo in 5 years
Have been going to Neil King PT for craniosacral therapy and other neck and back therapy for headaches & migraines. The team of Heather, Claire & Jake are terrific and have helped my complicated condition. The front office staff are terrific too! Thank you all!
I was in a painful and limited state of movement with my low back problems. Physical therapy was a last ditch effort to avoid a possible surgery. A plan was made for my situation, and my main therapist Lorenzo has done a masterful job in breaking the pain cycle. Everyone, from the front desk on, has been not only professional and caring, but invested in personal outcomes. I can see why they have earned five stars across the board.
Returned from CO and was unable to put any weight on my left leg. Was leaving for France in 10 days and Neil was so kind to get me in right away. Tina, Denise and Neil worked on me 7 times before leaving. Tina even loaned me her mother's walker for several days. Tina suspected it was a Baker's cyst and one week later the knee was drained by ortho doc, some cortisone injected and I am now sitting in the airport on my way to France. This place cares about you and I would recommend it to anyone in need of physical therapy. They are great. Thank you for all your hard work.
I was having ear issues due to TMJ. I was referred to Tina at the Rochester Neil King office. She is amazing! She has worked with me to teach me how to manage my TMJ , build muscle on the side of my face that had little to none, and taught me exercises and stretches to be able to manage my TMJ going forward. I would highly recommend anyone with TMJ issues to go to Tina. She's kind, compassionate, and knows her stuff!!!
